Future scenarios for Education on the Cloud

The most difficult aspect in developing and applying ICT in any endeavour is the ability to evaluate mid – to long-term future perspectives. WG4 will seek to evaluate such future developments as they relate to education and cloud technology. In other words examine “Future scenarios for Education on the Cloud”.

More specifically, WG 4 will deal with topics like: the role, the processes and the impact of open (education) resources through the cloud, the availability of free and available information using the cloud, new generation tools for the cloud, communicating and publishing on the Cloud and the resultant issues such as ethics and IPR. Every effort will be made to attract organisations such as education and teacher associations, NGOs, publishing organisations, museums, libraries, Ministries as well as researchers, teachers, educators, school administrators and policy makers and politicians.

The following deliverables are planned:

  • A Research Report on the state of the art and methodologies of “futures” thinking

  • A Report on scenarios for the future resulting from partner conference

  • Press Releases on the power of the Cloud and the potential and drawbacks

Workshop on futures at the final conference.
